Parent Reps
We will be launching parent reps for Years EY2 to Year 9. Parents from these year groups will receive an email this week asking for volunteers. Our parents are ambassadors for our school and we are sure the role of class rep will help enrich the parents' experience. Our class reps will act as a communication link between the parents in their class and the school through their class/form teacher. An outline of the role will be sent in the email this week. This is an exciting, new initiative in the school and we are looking forward to developing the role over the year.

Highlights from the week
Wai Kru in Secondary
Last week, our secondary students participated in the Wai Kru Ceremony, a special tradition that allows them to show respect and gratitude to their teachers at the start of the school year.
Student representatives presented beautifully decorated trays filled with plants and thoughtful messages. A standout moment was a student performance of songs they composed themselves, which added a warm and emotional touch to the event.
The event included heartfelt speeches from students, expressing their admiration for their teachers and showcasing the strong and supportive relationship between our teachers and students.

Student council
Last week, the Primary School Student Council members met to finalise their design for our new 'Buddy Bench'. The students put forward the idea of getting a 'Buddy Bench' for our playground as a way for children to signal to others that they might be feeling lonely and need a friend to play with or someone to talk to. That way, if a child sees someone sitting on the bench, they know to go over to them, check they are okay and perhaps invite them to play a game with them. The Student Council used feedback and ideas from all KS2 classes and studied some innovative and imaginative designs that children had created. The council members are now incredibly inspired and excited to get started on turning their final design into reality!
