Message from the Headteacher
We were so lucky with the weather last week for both of the Primary School sports days. It was super to see so many parents here cheering on their children.
Years 4 to 6 had their fun on Wednesday with football matches, tug of war, the bean bag target throw and a basketball skills challenge. The atmosphere was fantastic and the students should be commended for competing with such a positive and inclusive attitude. Green team were the overall winners, but all of the students and teams showed fantastic grit and perseverance throughout the morning. Well done all!
Thursday was the chance for Years 1, 2 and 3 to show their physical prowess. They had fun working around their different activities, with an obstacle course race, a tricycle race, the sack race, tug of war and the target throw. The buzz from students and parents was electric and the students showed great energy and effort around the events. Inspirational stuff from our youngest athletes!
A huge thank you to parents for your support over the two events. For obvious reasons, we have postponed today’s scheduled Secondary Sports Day to next Tuesday. Fingers crossed for a dry day!

In addition to the school sports days, we have enjoyed some extracurricular sports events in the past couple of weeks. On Wednesday we hosted Somtawin School for an Under 18 boys football fixture. The boys put on a great footballing show with some fantastic performances from both teams. The game finished 5-5 with a controversial penalty being scored by Somtawin in the final minute. Well done to all involved, and thank you to Somtawin for joining us.
The football continued on Friday with our younger students once again playing against Halio School. On Saturday the pitch was busy again when Black Mountain Football Club hosted football matches against Hua Hin Football Academy. One of the great moments from this Saturday was our very own Charlie Tweddle making an impressive save!

Y9 Ayutthaya Trip
Last week, our Y9 students visited Ayutthaya to discover more about Thai culture and history. They participated in a range of tours and activities, visiting the Royal Palace and National Museum. Students also learnt about rice farming and supported each other and their teachers with craft activities. The boat tour seeing a number of temples was a great highlight and students also enjoyed sampling all the different foods available at the Ayutthaya night market. As well as capturing lots of photos, our students have also created many fond memories with their classmates and we look forward to hearing more about their adventures at their future showcase event.

HHIS Morning Fun Run and Breakfast
Well done to everyone who participated - there were over 40 students, parents and teachers who join on Saturday morning for running, games and breakfast. We started with a warm up on the school field and then everyone moved to the looped trail by the Black Mountain Wake Park. All runners and walkers were able to enjoy a distance to suit them and it was great that we had students from as young as Year 2 involved. Our oldest students challenged themselves to run 10km and following the morning exercise, we visited Daddy Deli, who kindly offered everyone a 25% discount. It was a fantastic atmosphere throughout and we look forward to hosting another event in the future.

Halloween Party Yr10-13
The Events Planning ECA team, led by our dedicated Year 12 CAS students, recently organised an unforgettable Halloween Party for Year 10-13 students. From spine-chilling haunted house experiences to a spirited costume competition this event was packed full of excitement and frights.
Beyond the costumes and scares, this Halloween Party had a meaningful purpose. It’s part of a series of events aimed at raising funds for the Baan Mae Kapiang Child Development Centre. This is the school our IB students visited the centre on a recent trip to Chiang Mai, where they contributed by building a playground wall to create a safer, more engaging environment for the children.
With each event, we’re not just raising funds but fostering connections and making a tangible difference. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this cause, and to our Year 12 CAS students for their fantastic leadership in making it all happen. Here’s to many more impactful events in the year ahead!

Concordian Model United Nations III
It was a really successful weekend for our delegates at the third annual Concordian International School Model United Nations Conference. We were joined by schools across Thailand and beyond, with over 300 delegates in attendance. Students gave speeches, drafted resolutions, negotiated and debated important global issues, including the relationship between human rights and sovereignty, and the sustainability of modern societal practices. Congratulations to all 14 of our representatives for their hard work preparing for, and participating in the event. Particularly well done to Kirill and Flo for receiving personal awards in FIFA and UNHRC, respectively. There will be lots more opportunities for our secondary students to become involved in the MUN programme at HHIS throughout Term 2.
