Message from the Headteacher
Last academic year the whole HHIS community spent time sharing their thoughts on our school: what we do well, what we can improve and what we can develop in the future. This feedback was collated to form the strategic direction of the school. Our strategic direction falls into these four categories:
One of the goals under “School Culture and Community” is to review our school vision, mission and values and ensure they are known and understood by the whole community.
Taking the data from the school review last year, and in collaboration with staff and students, we have now finalised the guiding statements for HHIS.
The vision of our school states what we aim to achieve at HHIS, and is simply, but effectively put as:
The mission of a school states why the school exists, why we do what we do. The mission of HHIS is:
We hope that by articulating these guiding statements of our school, along with our strategic plan goals, we have a clear purpose and direction for the future.
With that in mind I would like to invite you to a headteacher’s coffee morning next Tuesday, 25th March, when I will give an update on some of the developments and plans that are already underway.
Please register here if you are able to attend. I look forward to seeing many of you next week.

Last week, Our wonderful gardeners Mr Su and Mr Beam have been working with the year 1 children to get ready to plant their herb garden and fruit and vegetable patches. They mixed compost together and weeded the flower beds to prepare for the fresh soil. We are looking forward to watching some plants grow in the garden.

Year 8 Inspire Me Trip to Sam Roi Yot
It has been fantastic to hear the reflections and stories from our Year 8 students following their recent residential trip to Sam Roi Yot. Our students were able to learn about the different cave formations whilst visiting Phraya Nakhon Cave and they also enjoyed evening and morning beach walks along Dolphin Bay.
As well as this, there was singing and dancing, reflective art activities and a definite highlight of the final day was the cooking competition hosted by the teaching team at The Green Beach Resort. Our student chefs worked brilliantly together and Ms Iona, K Card, Mr Chris and Mr Lewis had a tough job selecting the best tasting dishes! Points were also awarded for clean cooking stations, food presentation and teamwork & cooking technique.

A big well done to all our students and we are really pleased that they enjoyed the experience and would recommend this trip to their friends in younger classes.

10km Trophies for Jasmine and Bass!
Well done to parents, teachers and to our trophy winning students, Jasmine Y12 and Bass Y10. Everyone was in really positive spirits at the Chaam running event on Sunday morning and it was wonderful to share congratulations with Jasmine and Bass. They have been training really hard and they should feel very proud of their progress. To win age group trophies at this competitive 10km event is a great achievement!
