Message from the Headteacher
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to complete our recent survey. Your feedback is valuable to us: it helps us understand what we’re doing well and where we can improve to work towards our vision of inspiring success for all.
It is clear from the responses that the quality of teachers is an important criteria when considering a school. This quality is an important criteria when we are recruiting our teachers. At HHIS we only employ teachers who are fully qualified in the area that they teach, with an internationally recognised teaching qualification. We expect our teachers to be life-long learners, on a path of professional growth. Weekly staff meetings take place after school ensuring our teachers stay up to date with the latest research, teaching strategies, and curriculum developments. These meetings are an opportunity for our teachers to share expertise, explore innovative and imaginative ways to develop our international curriculum and to undertake action research projects.
Over the next few weeks we will be introducing some of the new teachers who will be joining the school in August. Meanwhile, you can find out more about our wonderful staff by visiting the most popular page on our school website: the biographies of our teachers!

We have decided to keep the survey open until Wednesday, so please take the opportunity to share your opinions if you have not already done so.

We thank you once again for your continued support and we look forward to sharing more updates and highlights from the survey soon.

FOBISIA Music Festival 2025 – A Celebration of Music Without Borders
Last week, a group of our Secondary students travelled to Bangkok Prep to take part in the FOBISIA Music Festival—a vibrant three-day event bringing together approximately 200 students from schools across the region for a powerful celebration of music, culture, and collaboration.
Thursday and Friday were intensive rehearsal days as students prepared for the big concert on Saturday. The rehearsals were demanding but also great fun, especially under the direction of the incredible Dr Susanna Saw—a world-renowned conductor who has worked with choirs across the globe. Our students were very fortunate to have the chance to learn from her expertise and infectious energy.
The concert theme, “Music From Everywhere,” truly lived up to its name. Students performed songs in English, French, Bahasa Melayu, and Cantonese, showcasing a rich blend of global styles and languages.
It wasn’t all rehearsals, though! On Thursday evening, students enjoyed hands-on cultural workshops—making traditional flower garlands, exploring Thai musical instruments, and even playing a few lively rounds of Werewolf! On Friday night, Bangkok Prep put on a fantastic Carnival/Funfair-style event, complete with live performances, games, and prizes. Many of our students came away with everything from slinkys to cuddly toys—along with big smiles and lasting memories.
Saturday morning was dedicated to final run-throughs before the grand performance. That afternoon, the audience was treated to a spectacular concert featuring nearly 200 student performers. The final piece brought together the Festival Orchestra and Festival Choir for a moving and powerful finale.
This was a truly unforgettable experience for our students. It gave them the chance to: 🎵 Perform challenging, large-scale repertoire 🎵 Learn from a world-class conductor 🎵 Make meaningful connections with peers across the region 🎵 Celebrate the universal language of music
If you weren’t able to watch the performance live, you can view the full concert here:

As always, this festival reminded us that music truly brings people together, no matter where they're from.

Visit to Key Stage 2 by WFFT
On Monday, our Year 3 - 6 students were thrilled to welcome Laura from the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT), who led an inspiring and engaging assembly. With passion and warmth, Laura captivated the children as she explained why animals end up at the WFFT, the dangers they face, and the vital work the foundation does to rescue, rehabilitate, and protect these incredible creatures. She also highlighted WFFT’s important mission to educate people about preserving wildlife and ensuring animals can continue to live wild and free. A special moment in the assembly was when Year 4 proudly presented Laura with an amazing 12,060 THB—money they raised through their inspiring, powerful art campaign, last term. Their generosity and hard work will go a long way in helping even more animals find safety, healing, and freedom.

Celebrating Student Success
Following Ben Thaomas’ trophy winning performance at the Hua Hin 10km, we were delighted to receive more positive news for his triathlon performance at this weekend’s event hosted in Cha-am. Ben shared the following reflection and we are very proud of him - well done Ben!
“It was probably the hardest race I've ever done but it was fun. Having to race against the Thai national age group team was also a great experience and I am pleased that I was able to keep up with them in a very competitive field. There were a variety of different skill levels in the event ranging from first timers, recreational triathletes, age group winners and even people who have competed at the ironman world championships. I think everyone should try a triathlon. The race format of swim, cycle and run is definitely challenging but the community spirit is great.”
