Message from the Headteacher
At HHIS we have a number of documented policies that underpin the work we do at the school. These policies undergo a regular review process that involves input from the relevant stakeholders in the school community. One such review undertaken recently was the student behaviour policy. This review took place with input from the teachers and students.
The policy was reviewed by students from Year 3 to Year 13 and their comments and suggestions have been taken into account. They worked together to share their ideas to promote positive behaviour and the approaches they demonstrate in their learning and school life at HHIS. Our Primary and Secondary Student Councils then took responsibility to bring all the suggestions together and create a summary for the policy.
How do HHIS students promote positive behaviours?
-
We respect that everyone is unique and we are all individual
-
We have a positive attitude and we always try our hardest
-
We arrive to school and go to lessons on time
-
We use feedback so we can improve our work
-
We listen to each other and share our own ideas in group and class discussions
-
We ask for help when we need it
-
We learn from our mistakes and don’t give up
-
We take care of our school
-
We show good manners and we are polite to others
-
We make sure everyone is included and we always make new students feel welcome
-
We share with each other. This includes the Lego, the playground, the sports equipment, the Chromebooks and and the IGCSE & IB Textbooks.
-
We help our friends. We help each other. We help our community and we should feel inspired to raise awareness and money to help good causes.
These were then celebrated in our assemblies. Very well done to everyone involved.

HHIS Eco Garden
Our students have been visiting the Eco Garden this week, supported by our dedicated team of gardeners. They prepared the garden beds for planting and helped pull out the weeds so our pumpkin plants have all the nutrients from the soil.

Year 7 VeggieTales Trip
As part of The Snack Attack learning theme, our Y7 students enjoyed visiting VeggieTales restaurant where they were able sample local flavours and cook traditional foods. The next step is for students to innovate their own snack ideas!

Battle of the Bands competition in Malaysia
One of our Key Stage 4 Bands, ‘Petty Theft’, did incredibly well in making it to the live final of the FOBISIA Battle of the Bands Competition which was hosted by International School Park City in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (27th January). To have made it to the live final is quite an achievement as there were only 30 places (for KS3 and KS4/5 categories) and over 60 auditions! The event showcased the very best musical bands from British schools across Asia and the musical skill on display was incredible! ‘Petty Theft’ gave a great performance and one of the judges even compared them to ‘The Cure’! Very well done to Flynn, Aiden, Ohm, Sophia, Harry & Melanie - we look forward to more performances from them in the future!
