Message from the Headteacher

Over the last two weekends, HHIS has been acting as host school for the FOBISIA Tennis Tournament. This event was a chance for HHIS to bring a taste of International School sport to Hua Hin. Almost 300 children from 22 different schools from across Asia came to Hua Hin True Arena to play some high quality, fun and competitive tennis. Over 700 tennis matches across 2 weekends. One girl travelled all the way from Kazakhstan to be part of the action!

This was a great opportunity to introduce some of our young students to the game. We had 6 students entered into the Under 10 category. Bella, Jato, Valentin, Alexander, Charlie and Miron. They represented the school well, showing a fantastic attitude, determination and some top tennis skills. A fantastic learning opportunity and great fun for all.
It was a busy few days of sports: on Tuesday we also hosted a football match for our U15 team against Somtawin School. It was a hard fought match with Somtawin winning 5-3. A great chance to build friendships with a local, Hua Hin school.
Well done to all the players in these recent events.
Scholars of Sustenance (SOS)
Food waste and food poverty are global issues that are very relevant here in Thailand. Our students have been finding out about the good work done by Scholars of Sustenance and have shown great inspiration in wishing to support this campaign further.
There is an opportunity for the whole school community to support this wonderful charity that is based in Hua Hin and around Thailand. ‘SOS’ has served over 33 million meals for people in need. Here are two great ways everyone can help:
  1. Food Drive: This is an opportunity for all students and families to support by donating non-perishable food items.
  2. Snack Attack Sales: On March 22nd, there will be snacks available for purchase in the canteen. These snacks have been designed and marketed as part of the Y7 curriculum and there is a lot of excitement as we look forward to this event. Students are encouraged to bring 50thb - 100thb to buy the snacks and the money raised will be donated to ‘SOS’ to help people in need.
We thank our student leaders and our whole school community for this support. You can discover more about Scholars of Sustenance by clicking here: https://www.scholarsofsustenance.org/sos-thailand

Finally, The hot season is upon us. Temperatures are rising as is the humidity. This is a reminder to everyone to bring a water bottle to school, make sure you keep hydrated and to consider wearing a hat and sun protection cream when you are outdoors.

Highlights from the week!

Year 5 trip Baan Nong Hiang

We had a delightful trip last Friday March 8th, our Year 5 students had the wonderful opportunity to explore Thai musical instruments at Baan Nong Hiang School, located nearby. This experience proved to be both educational and enjoyable for our students. Engaging in hands-on experiences, the students not only learned to play traditional Thai instruments but also fostered new friendships through collaborative play and meaningful conversations. This positive encounter stands as a significant learning milestone for them, and we look forward to future activities that will promote further exchange and growth in their learning journey.

Celebrating Student Success

We were delighted to welcome Gianna back to school where she shared inspiring stories and memories from her time studying at HHIS. Gianna graduated in 2022 making outstanding progress in her IGCSE and IB studies. At the Year 7 - 9 assembly, it was lovely to hear about how our I Values are continuing to support and shape her future.
