Message from the Headteacher

During this term we have been collecting input from the various members of the school community on areas of strength of the school and areas for improvement. The teachers, teacher assistants and students have already taken part in this exercise and their ideas are being used to help create a development plan for the school for the next few years.

The next step is to invite parents to share their ideas. We will be hosting a Headteacher's Coffee Morning on Tuesday 26th March for parents to come and give their input into this important process.
It has been really pleasing to read that the things students like about our school are the strong foundations in which HHIS prides itself on - a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, a chance to learn in innovative ways and opportunities for students to be inspired, lead projects and host their own events.

One of the ideas that students recommended for change was to design a new school uniform jumper. The Primary and Secondary Councils have already been working together to review the many good suggestions from all students across the school. Very soon, we can look forward to seeing this new design and families will have the opportunity to order this.

Highlights from the week!

Year 5 Trip- Phu Whichit Farm

Last week, Year 5 students visited Phu Wichit Farm to learn all about their chocolate making process. As part of their ‘Innovative Inventors’ topic, inspired by the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, they explored the grounds, took part in a chocolate-making workshop, and sampled some of the tasty organic produce.

IGCSE: Supporting Next Steps

It has been fantastic to welcome Year 9 students and parents, to progress meetings with teachers and an introduction to IGCSEs workshop. This support in guiding subject choices for the future is a key step in our student’s learning journeys and future successes. We thank families for attending and asking lots of valuable questions. Our current IGCSE learners in Year 10 and Year 11, also hosted an IGCSE fair for Year 9 to pass on their experiences to their younger peers. This was in addition to curriculum activities, PSHE lessons and soon there will be a careers afternoon to further inform our aspirational Year 9 students of what they can look forward to in the future.

Snack Attack Sales on Friday 22nd

Year 7 students are hosting a sales event in the canteen, where they will be selling their snacks which have been designed and marketed as part of their curriculum. All students are encouraged to bring 50thb - 100thb and the money raised will be donated to ‘SOS’ to help people in need. https://www.scholarsofsustenance.org/sos-thailand

ISB MS MUN

Some of our Year 8 and Year 9 Model United Nations delegates participated in a conference this weekend at International School Bangkok (ISB). Over two days, our students enthusiastically debated critical global issues, including the Kashmir crisis, disinformation in times of war, and modern slavery. Well done to Ben, Charlie, Ellin, Jamie, Jasmine, Kyan, Michelle, Sadie and William for showing their composure, resilience and diplomacy. A special mention also goes to Ben, who was awarded Best Delegate in DISEC I for his representation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Congratulations!

Celebrating Student Success

A big well done to our HHIS Primary Triathlon team who took part in Muangthai Kids Triathlon. Jack, Emma, Linus, Georgy, Anthony, Alicia, Alex, Alissa, Irina, Larissa and AJ deserve a lot of praise for their dedicated training and excellent performances in the event. We also had three secondary students who competed in the senior division. Competing against a field of 11 Men's teams, Ben (swim), Syon (bike), and William (run) stood out with their perseverance and teamwork. The trio finished in a strong 4th place and they should feel very proud.
