Loy Krathong was celebrated in the familiar style of HHIS with a blend of beauty, laughter and with the clear and important message that our rivers and waters need to be respected and looked after.
Att and Annie led the Secondary proceedings in a relaxed, professional manner. Students had our feet tapping as they sung (sang?) and danced to a lively 1940s composition by the Late King Bhumipol. The event also featured a dynamic and passionate debate about the pros and cons of Loy Krathong. The MC, Mark summarised by concluding that Loy Krathong was fun to celebrate but we should limit the number of Krathongs and use eco-friendly materials.
Our Primary assembly was led with equal aplomb by Alisa and Pur. The fun games were enjoyed by all and the dancers performed beautifully to the traditional Loy Krathong song.

Loy Krathong Charity Event
Thank you to everyone for contributing to this event which raised 9100THB for the Ramathibodi Foundation. This will go towards research for vaccines, improving screening and treatment for COVID-19.
Students also made colourful, tie-dye masks and will be giving these as gifts to the students of Wang Bost School.
School Council Creativity Project
The Secondary Council were delighted to visit classrooms on Friday afternoon to award certificates for the Creative Competition. We had 50 entrants and every individual should feel proud of their ideas. We are happy that this student-led initiative was so much fun!
Christmas Shoe Box Appeal
The Christmas Shoe Box Appeal was launched by Y12 students: Lieve, Bonnie and Jess on Friday. Please look out for their email giving full details. Last year we were able to make nearly 200 very needy children smile with delight with the gift of a gift filled Shoe Box. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
Golfing Prowess
Congratulations to Louis Y7 for his continued progress in playing golf. He recently enjoyed the competition at Evergreen Hills Golf Club making new friends and testing himself in a very demanding challenge! Louis explained that one of the holes was 510 yards, ranking this par 5 as a handicap 1. Well done for being so intrepid!

Basketball Competition
Our senior students enjoyed competing in our annual internal basketball competition, which was played over a six week period this year. The love for the game continues to grow at HHIS and that was evident in the standard of our matches. All players displayed a very positive attitude and worked very hard on the court, it was a great spectacle and certainly inspiring for the younger viewers. Mr Aaron
