Christmas Shoe Box Appeal – first pick upOur school community is pretty amazing really. Your response to the shoebox appeal has been tremendous. Thank you! On Friday the first truckload of over 50 ‘boxes of happiness’ were picked up and taken up to the first village. Wayne, from Jungle Aid tells us how the joy on the children’s faces was just priceless. Wayne is also keen to emphasise that it is not just the gifts that bring the smiles but the fact that they show that someone cares.

Bonnie, Jess and Lieve have been coordinating the whole appeal and have been doing a great job. The spirit of Christmas is here! The final pick-up for Christmas boxes will be on November 25th.

Making MeritAs our new swimming pool is being completed we will be holding a Merit making Ceremony on Saturday with nine monks from Wang Bost Temple.

Visit by Professor Claudio from Webster UniversityYear 12 Theory of Knowledge students enjoyed an enlightening session with Professor Dr. Claudio Cicuzza last Thursday. The primary aim of the seminar was to discuss whether religious beliefs are rational. Professor Claudio offered some fantastic insights into Greek philosophy, etymology and Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s suspension of disbelief. We thank the professor for providing our Year 12 students with such a truly thought-provoking afternoon.Mr David

Online Music CafeEven though we have not been able to have a ‘live’ Music Cafe this term our musicians have still been very active. Mr Sam has put together this YouTube playlist for you to enjoy. It is a ‘hidden’ list and can only be accessed through this link. This link will not appear on our website or any internet search engines.Online Music Cafe Link

ECA UpdateThis will be the final week of ECAs for this term. In the last week of term our school buses will leave school at 3:30pm every day.

Mr Jeremy is already busy collating ECAs for next term. These will include swimming lessons and ECAs in our new 25m pool and we will also be able to extend activities to use outside facilities.

Stories from Africa – Showtime! On Friday November 27th our Year 9 students will be celebrating their learning from the ‘Stories from Africa’ theme this term. Our IGCSE and IB Art and Music students will also be involved and it promises to be quite awe inspiring. We are still mindful of the need to be cautious regarding Covid-19, so we are limiting the audience to parents of participating students only and will be putting social distancing measures in place. The show will commence at 1:45pm.

Please could you park along the road by the Secondary exit and also use the car parking area at the end of the road. It would be helpful for parents of students in the show to take their children home straight after the show in order to ease the traffic flow at the end of the normal school day. The show will conclude by 3:00pm. Thank you for your support with this.

Early Years and Primary Christmas performancesI hear some beautiful songs being practised through Primary and Early Years in readiness for our Christmas Celebrations. I think that we are in for a real treat. Again we have to make sure that we are observing all precautions so we will be limiting the numbers of parents in our audiences by having separate performances for different year groups.
