Meet the Teachers

Ms Beccy

Ms Beccy

Headteacher

My journey in education started in the East End of London many years ago, and I was tempted into International education by a post at the International School of the Seychelles in 1998. I have never looked back, and have subsequently worked in schools in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and currently, in Bangkok.

I have several years of international school leadership, including the Headship of Schools in Bali, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. I have worked with the English National Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels and all four IB Programmes – including, of course, the IB Diploma.

My Early Years roots of child-centred education has extended to my belief that successful learning in all age groups, from Early Years to Year 13, is student centred. Teacher-led, but student centred, which is the philosophy of education that we live and breathe here at HHIS.

Kru Ying

Thai Teacher

After I graduated from Chulalongkorn University with Bachelor and Master degree in Early Childhood Education, the passion in teaching and working with children led me to complete the Doctorate degree in Educational Studies in 2012. I have worked in international schools in Bangkok for almost 20 years, both in the British and American curriculum. I love to spend time with children and support their growth in all areas. I believe that learning is the process of working together to achieve the goals so working closely with children and helping them achieve their goals step by step is always delighted me.

Primary Learning Support Coordinator

I am a passionate primary SEN teacher and during the past 15 years I have taught a range of learners in a variety of provisions; specialist, mainstream and inclusion bases both in the UK and internationally. Most recently I have established and coordinated provision across a bilingual school in Vietnam and have had the pleasure of supporting teachers and teaching assistants to successfully develop their classroom practice to meet the needs of a diverse range of students. I am committed to ensuring that all children have the best possible learning experiences and I’m keen to make the curriculum accessible to all.
In my spare time I am currently completing a research project about dyslexia and bilingualism in order to complete my Masters in Special Educational Needs and Disability. When I get a break from studying, I enjoy reading, travelling and eating food from all over the world.

I graduated From The University of Plymouth in 2000, working as a Visual Arts teacher and Head of Art for over 20 years in the UK, Germany, Dubai and Thailand. During my teaching career, I have always been enthusiastic and passionate about the wellbeing of students in my care. I respect and understand that the developmental, emotional, social and educational issues affecting young people and their learning journey is of primary importance. This prompted me to gain experience and qualifications in a range of wellbeing modalities including Personal training, Sports Therapy, Clean Language Therapy, Japanese Integrated Medicine and recently, Person centred Counselling. I am delighted to share my skills and experience to support and inspire others to put their wellbeing back on track and facilitate positive change.

PSHE and Wellbeing Teacher

After gaining my BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS in 2003, I worked for a number of years in the north of England before moving to a large international school in Spain. I was then delighted to be given the opportunity to work at HHIS, where I have been for the last eight years. During this time, I have gained a lot of experience working with children from Early Years to Year 6, with a range of different backgrounds and life experiences.

This academic year, I am excited about continuing to work with the children in their PSHE lessons, encouraging them to make good lifestyle choices based on our I Values. I will also be supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the students in Primary to help them to learn effectively, cope with day-to-day challenges, and develop into resilient young adults, as I am passionate that every child should thrive and achieve their true potential.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling and experiencing new cultures, as well as keeping fit.

I am really looking forward to another exciting year ahead at HHIS!

Learning Support Teacher

After graduating from Mahidol University, I travelled the world, worked in several different posts for many international companies, but realised that to me there is nothing more rewarding than a teaching job. I fell in love with teaching many years ago and started my full-time teaching role in 2014. Apart from a certificate of teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), I am also pursuing my second master degree in education. I also believe that teaching is a combination of art and science which varies for each learner. That is one of reasons why I am so passionate about teaching, it is intriguing. With my passion and years of teaching and tutoring experience, I am thrilled to be in a teaching team at HHIS where I can promote a stimulating positive learning environment for learners.
